Sellwood Bridge video wins national award

A video tour of the Sellwood Bridge narrated by former Multnomah County Chair Ted Wheeler received a national Best of Class award for being the top video produced by a county in 2009. The award was announced by the National Association of County Information Officers.

In the short video, Chair Wheeler takes a tour of the bridge, pointing out its problems and the issues involved in deciding its future. The video has had nearly three thousand views. Using visuals of the bridge to explain the project helped to educate the public and build consensus that it was time to deal with the failing structure.
