Open House Update

Thanks to those of you who attended our open house on September 30th at Oaks Park. About 130 people joined our project team to learn more about the refinements made to the Preferred Alternative over the summer and the next steps in our planning process.

I was especially pleased to see and hear from so many of you who live or work close to the bridge, especially on the west side. Some of the modifications to the bridge plans involve changes to driveways and access points on SW Macadam Ave. We have worked diligently to balance the needs of improved traffic flow and safety for all modes of traffic with access and convenience for the neighbors who live and work along the Macadam corridor. The feedback we heard is that most of you are generally pleased with the direction we are moving toward.

The tasks before Multnomah County now are to complete the Final Environmental Impact Statement and submit it to the Federal Highway Administration for their approval, as well as continue working on our funding plan for the bridge. We plan to hold another public meeting with you in the spring to update you on our progress.

In the meantime, please continue checking the project website and this blog for the latest information on our project.
